Clearly Whimsy Stamps Release: Day 3

Amy - Balloon4

Welcome to the ... Clearly Whimsy Stamps January release BLOG HOP!

The CWS design team have been sharing some amazing creations made with these new stamps and dies over the last couple of days, and today we are celebrating their release with a GRAND BLOG HOP! The hop starts today (Saturday January 17th at 8.00AM ET) and ends on Wednesday January 21st at midnight EDT. If you would like to hop along with us today, please CLICK HERE to start the hop.

I've used the Up, Up, and Away stamp set and sentiments from Whimy Stamps.  I started by lightly Distress Inking the edges of the white layered piece with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  I was going for subtle....hope I achieved that!  LOL  I stamped and trimmed my hot air balloon by hand and layered behind some diecut clouds (that are just amazing BTW).  The sentiment was stamped in the left corner with Amuse Slate ink.....my favorite gray ink!!!  Lastly, some embellishing was done with white sequins.  I kinda LOVE this card!!

Clearly Whimsy Stamps Release: Day 1

Hi everyone and welcome to the first sneak peek day of the Clearly Whimsy Stamps January 2015 release!!

Over the next 3 days we will reveal our *BRAND NEW* Clearly Whimsy Stamps release! We are releasing 6 new clear stamp sets and 8 coordinating die/die sets this week, and they will be available to buy from the Whimsy Stamps store TODAY and selected Whimsy Stamps retailers on Saturday!!

Today we are revealing the Birthday Balloon 3x4” stamp set together with its coordinating Birthday Balloon die, a standalone Birthday word die, Up Up and Away 4x6” stamp set and its companion Up Up and Away Sentiments 3x4" stamp set, together with a coordinating Up Up and Away die set and a Stitched Clouds die set. Hop on over to the Whimsy blog for more details.

I have been with Whimsy Stamps for just about a year now and I'm sad to say that I am stepping down from the team after this release.  I have had a fabulous time designing with Simonne's designs.....will definitely miss the team!!  That being said, I have just a few things to share for the release this time around.

This card is so bright that you might need shades!  I definitely think this card would lift anyones spirits!!  I've used the Up, Up, and Away set along with the Up, Up, and Away sentiments.  I stamped my sun rays across a white card.  For the center of the sun, I diecut a standard circle and gave it texture.  The sentiment was stamped onto the circle and adhered with foam tape.  The extra was trimmed off with scissors.  One little kite was stamped, cut out, and adhered with foam adhesive.

showCASe your style challenge #6

Clearly Whimsy Stamps has a fabulous new challenge blog called showCASe your style.  Have you checked it out yet?  You do NOT have to use Whimsy Stamps products to play along but if you do, the gift certificate will be more if you are the winner!

The challenge runs 2 weeks and this time it's all about COLOR!
Turquoise, Lime, Black, White

I started by using some Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass onto my top folding card base just around the edges (I did this mainly because I couldn't find cardstock in my stash to match the Distress Ink!).  I used the "Happy" die from Whimsy Stamps and diecut the word but left the word in the negative.  Why, you ask?  I used my blending tool to then apply Tumbled Glass and Shabby Shutters Distress Inks to my word (leaving it in the negative made applying the 2 colors of ink so easy!)  My diecut "Happy" word was layered with 2 more white layers and for the 3rd layer.....I diecut a BLACK "Happy" and offset it to the left just a bit to give a shadow effect.

Amy - Happy Everything

Some balloons from Happy Everything (Whimsy Stamps) were stamped onto a trimmed white card that was layered with black cardstock.  I finished my sentiment with "birthday wishes" stamped onto a tiny handcut banner and adhered with foam adhesive.  Here's a close-up of the "Happy" diecut:

Friendship Hop!

12.19.14#2

Today the Whimsy DT members are hosting a  friendship hop in honor of a special member of the Whimsy Stamps family, Simonne Clay. Simonne has been a fixture here at Whimsy for many years and we all just wanted to show our appreciation for all that she does for each of us and for sharing her amazing talent as an illustrator.

Not only have I had the pleasure of designing with this talented illustrator's designs, I have been chatting with Simonne over the past few months and I'm so glad to call her a friend!  Simonne, I am so glad we've "chatted" and truly wish you the best in what you do after Whimsy.  I hope that I will get to work with you again in the future!  xoxo

So, this card is for YOU!  I used the FIRST sets I was sent as a guest for Whimsy almost a year ago.  They are still my favorites:  Sweet as Candy and Sweet as Candy Sentiments!

I masked off the top portion of my card and stamped the candy repeatedly on the bottom to create my own pattern paper.  Using the 'Sweet' word die, I layered several together and centered them across my candy panel.

Here is the full list of blog hop participants and there are some prizes up over on the Whimsy blog!

showCASe your style challenge #4

The Clearly Whimsy Stamps DT has a fabulous new challenge blog called showCASe your style.  You do NOT have to use Whimsy Stamps products to play along but if you do, the gift certificate will be more if you are the winner!

The challenge runs 2 weeks and uses this sketch!

I absolutely LOVE this sketch!  For a CAS girl, this was perfect!!  I went with some silver glittery DCWV Glitzy Glitter paper strips.  I embossed images and sentiment from Sparkke & Shine from Whimy Stamps in silver embossing powder.  A few sequins for "bling" were added!

12.13.14#3

We'd LOVE to see your CAS cards using this fun sketch over at

I'm also playing along with the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge for "bling it on" and the challenge over at CASology for "SILVER".
